French Sterling Silver Tureen c.1840



French 950 Silver Tureen. This Two-Handled, Covered bowl was produced in France during the first half of the 19th Century. It is made of the finest silver used by the french during the period, 950 fine. Round shape on round base with matching milled edges. Acanthus leaf handles, cast foliate and bud finial. Stands 7 1/2″ tall and measures 8 1/4″ in diameter at opening. Total weight is 28oz. Marked with makers mark, and silver standard mark. This French Sterling Silver Tureen is in excellent original condition.
