Large Baltimore Repousse Sterling Silver Punch bowl made by Baltimore Sterling Silver Co. and retailed by James R.Arminger Co. The Baltimore Sterling Silver Co. was founded in 1892 and became the Stieff Company in 1904, and during that short period produced some of the finest repousse silver holloware and flatware of the period. This punch bowl is a superb example of the level of handmade silver craftsmanship employed at that time. The depth and dimension to the repousse work, along with the detailed chasing is second to none. This bowl stands 7 1/4″ tall, measures 11 1/2″ in diameter and weighs 41 troy ounces. It was purchased from a Beverly Hills estate and is in excellent original condition with no damage or repairs. Marked on base with Baltimore Sterling Silver Co. Hallmark, James R. Arminger Co., and Sterling. A truly wonderful addition to any collection of Baltimore Repousse silver.
